One of the American values that we hold dear is the freedom of speech, as well as expression of that freedom. There are many who valiantly spend a lifetime pursuing passions that they hold dear. In some cases, experiencing this freedom is defined as “activism.” According to Merriam-Webster online dictionary, the definition of activism is “a doctrine or practice that emphasizes direct vigorous action especially in support of or opposition to one side of a controversial issue.”

Probation seems like such a great deal when first announced because it means that you will not have to spend any time in jail. However, it can be difficult to meet all of the terms of your probation over the long haul, especially when it seems as though forces beyond your control are conspiring against you. If you are facing a marijuana possession charge, you will want to make sure that you have the best legal defense team possible. The Guilford County courts take a very dim view of probation violation. If you remember that kid in school who could never get away with anything because teachers and administrators would never believe the story offered, that’s how judges and probation officers look at offenders who have violated their probation. No matter what reason given, even when it is truthful and legitimate, the response is usually a shake of the head and an implied, “a likely story.” That is why anyone in the Greensboro, NC area who has violated probation, even unintentionally, needs the help of an experienced Guilford County criminal attorney.

High Point police officers arrested a man this past week after he fled from them first by car and then on foot. The High Point Police Department responded to a call regarding a domestic disturbance case, but when they arrived at the home, they were informed that the suspect had left the scene in his vehicle. When another officer spotted the car and tried to stop it, the suspect fled on foot and entered another home. He was eventually apprehended when he tried to escape out of a second story window. He now faces several criminal charges and is most certainly in need of a criminal lawyer in High Point.
